Verification Methods

Zetto supports multiple verification methods. Each method validates a different signal and contributes points to your trust score.

Verification details

GitHub (+10 points)

1. Click Verify GitHub in your dashboard.
2. Authorize the Zetto OAuth app.
3. The system checks your GitHub account: existence, number of repositories, account age.
4. Points awarded automatically on success.

Tip

Older GitHub accounts with more repositories score the same +10 points as newer ones. The checks are pass/fail — the account just needs to be real and active.

Domain (+15 points)

1. Go to Settings > Verification > Domain.
2. Copy the verification token shown (e.g., zetto-verify=abc123def456).
3. Add a TXT record to your domain’s DNS with this value.
4. Click Verify. The system performs a DNS lookup to confirm the record.

Host:  @  (or your subdomain)

Note

DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours, though most providers update within minutes. If verification fails, wait and try again.

Stripe (+8 points)

1. Click Verify Stripe in your dashboard.
2. Complete the Stripe OAuth flow to connect your account.
3. The system verifies the connected account exists and checks revenue signals.

Phone (+5 points)

1. Go to Settings > Verification > Phone.
2. Enter your phone number.
3. Receive an OTP via SMS (powered by Twilio Verify).
4. Enter the code to complete verification.

Identity / Government ID (+20 points)

1. Go to Settings > Verification > Identity.
2. Upload a photo of a government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, national ID).
3. The document is verified against the photo and identity information.
4. Points awarded on successful verification.

This is the highest-value verification because it provides the strongest identity signal.

LinkedIn (+10 points)

1. Click Verify LinkedIn in your dashboard.
2. Authorize the Zetto OAuth app.
3. Professional profile confirmed.

Google (+5 points)

1. Click Verify Google in your dashboard.
2. Authorize the Zetto OAuth app.
3. Google account confirmed.

Pro Subscription (+15 points)

Points are automatically awarded when you subscribe to a paid Zetto plan. Points are removed if the subscription lapses.

Maximum from verifications

If you complete all verification methods, you earn 88 trust points from verifications alone. Combined with reviews (up to +20) and completed deals (up to +25), the theoretical maximum trust score is 133, capped at 100.

Tip

You don’t need to complete every verification. A trust score of 70 with at least 2 verified signals earns you the Verified Badge on your profile. Focus on the verifications most relevant to your use case — domain verification (+15) and GitHub (+10) are high-value and easy to complete.
