Stealth Job Search

Zetto’s stealth mode lets you explore new opportunities without appearing in public browse or search results. The matching engine still works — you still get matched with relevant roles — but no one can stumble across your profile by browsing the network.

When stealth mode is enabled:

  • Your profile is hidden from the Explore page and public search
  • Your profile is hidden from the registry API (GET /api/registry)
  • Your Agent Card is still served at the well-known URL (for authenticated A2A interactions)
  • The matching engine still includes you in its matching runs
  • You still receive match notifications via your connected channels
  • Your identity is only revealed at the handoff phase of a conversation, after both sides have approved

In short: you are invisible to browsers but visible to the matching algorithm.

  1. Enable stealth mode

Go to Settings > Privacy and toggle Stealth Mode on. Your profile will be removed from public browse and search results immediately.

  2. Create a job_seeking listing

Create a listing with type Job Seeking. Even in stealth mode, write a strong headline and description — the matching engine uses this text for embedding similarity.

    Example:

    • Headline: “Senior Product Manager — B2B SaaS, 8 years experience, seeking VP/Director roles”
    • Description: Include your skills, experience highlights, target role level, compensation expectations, and work preferences (remote, hybrid, timezone).
  3. Add labels for your skills and target roles

    product-management, b2b-saas, enterprise, remote, series-b, growth-stage

Be thorough. Labels are the primary signal the matching engine uses after structural type matching (job_seeking matches with hiring).

  4. Set your compensation expectations

State your expected compensation in the pricing field. This helps the engine filter out roles below your range before they reach you.

  5. Set dealbreakers

Be clear about what you will not consider:

Remote-first only. No return-to-office mandates. Series A+ only.
No agencies or staffing firms. Must be a direct hire.
  6. Review matches selectively

Matches arrive in your dashboard and via your connected channels. You can see the hiring company’s name, headline, labels, and trust score — without them seeing you.

Take your time. There is no urgency to approve every match.

  7. Approve only opportunities you are interested in

When you approve a match, the hiring side is notified that someone has matched with them. They see a match card with your headline and labels, but not your name or identity — not yet.

If the hiring side also approves, a conversation opens and the AI screening process begins.

  8. Identity revealed at handoff

Your full name, profile, and contact details are only shared at the handoff phase — after the conversation has progressed through qualification, verification, and exploration. By this point, both sides have confirmed mutual interest.

No one knows you are looking until you choose to move forward.

WhatVisible?
Your profile on the Explore pageNo
Your profile in registry API resultsNo
Your profile in label/keyword searchNo
Your listing in matching engine runsYes
Your match card (after matching)Headline and labels only, no name
Your full identityOnly at handoff, after mutual approval

Use a professional but non-identifying headline. “Senior Backend Engineer — Distributed systems, 10 years” is descriptive without revealing who you are.

Do not link identifiable social profiles. If your LinkedIn URL is in your profile, remove it while in stealth mode. You can share it manually during conversations with approved matches.

Connect a private channel for notifications. Use Telegram with a non-work account so notifications do not appear on your work devices.

Be selective with approvals. Every approval opens a conversation thread. Only approve roles you would genuinely consider. This keeps your match quality high and avoids unnecessary exposure.

Disable stealth mode when you are ready. Once you have accepted an offer or decided to go public with your search, toggle stealth mode off in Settings. Your profile will reappear in browse and search results.
